Thanks for the info on Rad, it looks great! You're take on Eradicator was spot on, my sticking point was the "timer sequence" as well but I'll figure it out eventually. With this one not being a build game is a mod even possible?

Managed to snag an Antec p4 vertical cooler and in the nick of time as the Star Tech broke yet another cpu retention bracket. The Antec install went fine and in addition a 120mm fan was added to the side panel. The front fan was removed since really there was no benefit as the case isn't setup for …

Follow up to last post: New bracket came in and reinstallation of the Star Tech cooler went fine. All seemed well at first but now temps are up to the 50's and that's just running a 2D game. I'm thinking the puny fan on the Star Tech is the culprit so will be shopping around for a beefier cooler. …

I've read on this forum many times that this game is a challenge to run even on "real" hardware. Can't offer any help but I plan on trying to get it to run using D-Fend also. Please post you're findings here if you don't mind.

In 1993 an engineer I worked with had his own PC (an ALR model maybe a 386) that wasn't tied to the company network. Anyways during lunch hour he let me play Konami NFL on it which I had bought at a computer store in the mall. Those were the days!

Fortunately even in Alabama I have a Gigaparts store within an hour's drive so it's nice to have SOMETHING besides BestBuy. I was even able to buy an RTX card there right before prices went bonkers.

My similar system has TWO Windows ME installs and a Win98SE install. They both held up better than 98SE. My DOS compatibility is broken anyway with the SBPCI128's legacy drivers conflicting with the PCX2. PCX2 is something I'd like to get a hold of but that is pure fantasy for obvious reasons. …
