Re: Old games with Russian translation

Hi! Many of the best translations were produced by a pirate company named Fargus (Фаргус). They are the studio that basically started the Russian game localisation scene. Of course at some point after 2002-2003 their quality dropped significantly, but earlier titles were awesome. Be on the lookout …

Re: 486DX2/VLB build

I tried running Duke Nukem 3D with all sound devices disabled. Now I get around 15FPS in open areas and up to 25FPS in rooms. The weird thing is, low FPS in this game really feels different than it would in a modern game, for some reason. I mean, 15FPS should be unplayable, but here it's just choppy …

Re: 486DX2/VLB build

Yeah, as it is, Duke Nukem 3D gives me single digit FPS in open areas of the first level and 12-19FPS in buildings. I can certainly see myself thoroughly enjoying the game this way 20 years ago, but I definitely have no reason to do that now 😀

486DX2/VLB build

Hi, all I decided to make a "classic" 486 build to use for MT-32 games. I've used a Chaintech 4SLP motherboard from my failed 5x86 build . No matter how hard I tried, this board always gave me issues with both 5x86 and AMD DX4-100 (even though it explicitly supports the latter). However, with a …

Re: A perfect MT-32 rig?

What version of mt-32 do you have? Only rev.0 has issues when computer speed is too fast, rev.1 doesn't care so you only mingle with caches and slowdown programs to provide yourself with a comfortable gaming performance which is a non mt-32 related issue but rather an issue of your own comfort and …

A perfect MT-32 rig?

Hi, all I recently got myself an MT-32 and having a lot of fun with it. Really waiting for keropi's next batch of MusicQuest clone cards, but SoftMPU will do for now. Anyways, I wanted to ask for an advice — if you were to build a rig with the sole purpose of covering most MT-32 titles (including …
