Recent mainboards don't support the ISA-SBPro emulation which PCI cards like the Ensoniq AudioPCI use. That may be a cause. The Yamaha YMF ISA card series usually only allow for a small midi daughterboard: the Yamaha OPL4-ML-DB. Cannot recall any other soundcards like that.

Interesting. I use the Windows 98 Dos box for EMS Memory emulation. So I don't have to include EMM386 in my Config.sys. A boot menu is also an option, but for now I prefer the windows approach.

I have a system with both DOS 7.1 and Windows 2000 in the same primary FAT32 partition. At boot I can select which one to load. With XP it is easy: when you install dos 7.1 first, then afterwards the XP installation will make it a multiboot automatically. Don't remember if 2k does this too.
