Sadly, I haven't found a way myself to avoid this weird error...it's just how Win98SE treats USB, nothing you can do 🙁 Not sure if WinME has this error too, maybe try WinME.

I have a Samsung SP0822N, performs wonderfully fast for it's age (and IDE limitations), and it's reliable after many tortures I've already done on it. I guess it's just these models, mistakes happen to everyone. And of course, we have the amazing SSD's from them gaining critical acclaim.

Windows 98SE works fine with 1GB of RAM without any tweaks...but only for me, looks like it's a seperate case for each configuration. In any case, MaxPhysPage=20000 + HIMEMX should solve all issues.

My 9550 had hynix RAM, the MX 440 and 6600GT both have Samsung RAM. Right now, I'll just be looking for a great deal to pop up. I have other things to worry about in the real life. 😀

I wish I knew what is wrong with the 6600GT, there are no signs of any faulty capacitors, burned tracks, or anything. I know you can bake GPU's but that's a last resort. :) As of now, no cheap 6800GT's, only 6800 regular, but fiddling with unlocking pipes doesn't sound fun. Radeons are more common …

Any 64bit GPU, no matter how new it is, is going to be abysmal. Keep the Ti installed. Great 98SE compatibility, and no driver/game problems.

Or better yet, have two GPU's for different usages. I have a MX440 and a 6600GT, I wanted to throw the MX440 away, but I'm not going to anymore 😀 Ti4xxx series are VERY good (if not the best?) for 98SE, as many users here said in the past.

Try to buy another HDD enclosure. Just buy a more expensive one. I guess your current enclosure screws up with the USB ports/power/whatever and trashes the main HDD of the computers...somehow 😮

If you download a SSD software from your SSD manufacturer (Samsung and Intel for sure) it can force TRIM commands on XP.
