Re: What game are you playing now?

Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition Completed! I've given this game so many attempts over the years, beginning with when the game was released back in 2002, but always got really bored with the large maps full of trapped and locked chests that contain mostly trash, the lack of party control (or …

COD4 was on sale so I grabbed it, and have been playing it over the weekend. I think I'm about the finish the game soon. I never played a COD game before, and wanted to see what the whole fuss was about, seeing as this game lit the world on fire in XBOX 360 days. To be honest, I still don't get it. …

I've been playing Metro:Exodus Enhanced lately. It adds some ray tracing, which surprisingly does little to hurt framerates on my RTX2060. Playing at 1080p, with Detail and Ray Tracing set to High and DLSS set to Quality, framerates rarely drop below 60. I think the lowest I've seen them dip is ~45 …

Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition I decided to give this game another chance. I've tried playing it so many times, starting back in 2002 when the game was first released and I bought into the hype. I hated it then because it felt like such a massive drop in quality from Baldur's Gate (only two …

I start playing Wizardry 8 on my voodoo system, really great RPG! Love the atmosphere. I think its hard to get in first, but you will get one of the best RPGs.. One of my favorite RPGs of all-time. I've completed it twice. Once when it came out, and once a few years ago as part of the Wizardry 6-8 …

Ended up finishing Icewind Dale last weekend. I was glad to finish it to be honest. I was getting tired of the combat. I love combat if done a certain way (think Wizardry series or Lords of Xulima). But this game reminded me of why I don't like this engine. It was a major complaint when I played …

I've only played 1/4 of the original so can't compare much between the two. So when remaking a game there is always a tough decision on how true to the original a game should be but IMO some things should be changed: INVENTORY Managing inventory in games is ridiculous. Does anyone consider this fun …

I never fully played the original DM or its sequel, but there are other similar titles I really enjoyed: Lands of Lore Anvil of Dawn Stonekeep Legend of Grimrock In general I'm not a fan of real-time clicky combat (if it's going to be real-time, I'd prefer the combat to be simple) but I liked each …

Be careful with your ONE save. Back it up regularly. I guess if you're playing on an emulator, it's more automated. I was playing on original hardware and got myself in a pickle and my previous save backup was far enough back in my progress that I didn't think it was worth it enough and ended up …

Eye of the Beholder Having just completed Lands of Lore , I decided to travel back in time and play the game that most inspired it. It uses the AD&D rules of course, so right away it's more complex than LoL . You start by creating a full party, and all the AD&D options are there. I did some …

System Shock Remake Now 15.5 hours in and simply loving it. I can't remember every detail of the original, but this game *FEELS* just like I remember feeling when I first played SS in 1994. Incredible remake. I was mad about them messing with the soundtrack earlier, but now that I've played longer, …

i'm not so up to speed on new games but the new system shock seems to have moderate tech requirements in comparison with most games? or perhaps its average the download is multi GB, certainly bigger than any drive from when the original was released :) anyway, if its effectively an all new game …

System Shock Remake I played through about half of the Backer Beta a few months ago, so much of this was still fresh when I started the final release last Thursday night. I'm now about 6 hours in. I completed the first level (Medical) in about 4 hours and currently on the Research level. Not a …

I made a push today and finished Bioshock 2 Remastered. Wanted to get it done before System Shock Remake was released on Tuesday. I wasn't crazy about BS2, but it was entertaining enough! Took me about 4 months to finish it. Final playtime was about 23 hours. Still playing Icwind Dale Enhanced and …
