Interesting approach to see the KT7A with a mobile CPU, an Athlon XP-M. Have got also an Abit socket 462 board, but it's only the KT7 with out the "A", that means without additional onboard raid IDE ports. Because it's KT133 only 100Mhz FSB, it does not make sense to combine it with a Barton. …

Depends on what 500 you have, and if you use an Gary-adaptor or not. And the only way around, was to max out ChipRam on the motherboard it self. This is also known as a ChipRam mod. And doing that, the motherboard will adress the trapdoor expansion as ChipRam, without the use of an Gary-adaptor. …

You should be able to over clock the k6-3 to 550mhz. ( 100 x 5.5 ) Be careful, probnot has the normal K6-3 (with 0,25 µm and normally 2.4 core voltage). You have the "+" Version with 0,18 µm and lower voltage. Cause i don't have the K6-3 but the K6-2, so i don't have any test result for this cpu, …

It is possible to use both pipeline burst caches, when there is a 256kb onboard pipelined burst cache and you install an additional 256kb COAST stick? See: Table 7.8, chapter 7, page 241 Link Example mainboard is the soyo 5te2.

Well, i know that the VIA chipset can cache the ram up to 64Mb, when 512 kb L2 is onboard. As i already have told, there is this option "Sustained 3T Write" in the BIOS. I thought that with "enabled" this function, it can be cacheable (WT) up to 128Mb. Obviously this option is not visible in my BIOS …
