Could also be power supply or cooling issues. That's a lot of cards in one PC.

I'm a bit late, but yes, I did the same thing in my Retro PC with a Voodoo 3 in 98SE, and GeForce 2 MX400 in XP. As with you, I set the bios default to PCI, and the 98 half is already happy. XP will take over and power the AGP card once it starts up. I don't recall a black screen issue after exiting …

Naw, that wasn't it. It still worked fine for MTCP and Arachne. I commented out EMM386 to test, but it still behaved the same. Of course, now I have a system config for each of the three major DOS-driver types. Yay?

Crossover isn't needed for modern network cards due to a wonderful invention called Auto MDI-X. The i5 PC running DosBox definitely has this. The drivers do not have a configuration file. The broadcast packets look identical in Wireshark from what I can tell. Packet type 802.3 "Ethernet Raw". Same payload too; the only difference is the source address.

You can have both universal motherboards OR universal cards, even if the card also supports 8X AGP. If the card itself is universal (and it looks like the 9200 LE I'm grabbing is), it should still work in my board, no? The image DOES have a 3.3 V notch in it.

I've never had problems using Windows File Sharing and sharing a folder on the OLD PC, then connecting from the new. I've successfully pushed files from Win 7 down to my 98 Install, as well as Windows for Workgroups 3.11. The other way around doesn't work without SAMBA in Linux though.
