Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

Did you try switching to hi-res in-game with alt-r? I think it's alt-r Just did that. As I suspected, this just doubles the resolution from 320x200 to 640x400, which is still 16:10. I finally figured out what my issue was. The ECE version hangs up on the video playback if the PC speaker option is …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

Dungeon Keeper seems to lack aspect correction when loading a map with surfacepp. The loading screen and in-game appear fat. That's exactly how it is supposed to be. The intro, loading screen and the game are natively rendered in 320x200, which is a 16:10 widescreen resolution, the menu and the map …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

Looks like there might be an issue with DOSBox ECE 4085 and Descent 2. DOSBox EXE 4085 hangs up when the intro video tries to play. I've tested various versions of DOSBox ECE back through version 4007 and all of them seem to hang on the video playback. Descent 2 is working fine with both DOSBox .74 …

vorob wrote: Okay, this output=surfacenp solved my issue, but fps in quake 1 is horrible, why? In output=opengl fps is okay. Surfacepp and surfacenp both have higher hardware requirements than opengl or openglnb, that's why it runs worse with more deamnding games like Quake.

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

This means that anyone who wants a complete ECE build will have to go through those steps that you described. Actually, anyone who wants a complete build can just download it, at least for Windows. What exactly are you trying to achive by compiling ECE yourself? Is there any chance you might …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

Is it possible that the mixer callback issues are causing the lockup? Presumably it's my bad attempt to fix the SDLmain.cpp error. The mixer callback errors are normal and probably not the cause of the lockups. Did you try your build on more than one computer? Maybe it works on another? For …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

OK, building Munt with Cmake in VS 2017, I got as far as this: Could NOT find libsoxr Could NOT find PkgConfig (missing: PKG_CONFIG_EXECUTABLE) Could NOT find libsamplerate Those errors are fixed easily: libsoxr and libsamplerate -> just activate option "libmt32emu_WITH_INTERNAL_RESAMPLER" in Cmake …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

Hey, I can't get this to compile on Mac OS/X. I've rolled vanilla SVN builds on this machine so it "should" work but I hit a bunch of errors. ECE differs from vanilla in several files and has some more dependencies, so there's a good chance you might run into more errors, especially on MacOS. I'm …

Re: DOSBox Scaling is Limited

Anyways, that's my DOSBox rant and hopefully it may help someone on understanding and scaling their games in DOSBox. Plus, I hope it gets fixed/added in a future release. It may save some headache just to add a feature that states to scale by 2,3,4,5,etc. Instead of writing in window dimensions …
