I'm sure there are more interesting projects to build with that chip 😀 Such as a way to connect any AGP cards into a modern system via PCIE Or plug a newer PCIe card into an old AGP system (Geforce 8, RTX4090, whatever you prefer)

I am wondering. Could it be possible to chain a DMA controller on than single exposed DMA channel ? 🤔 The IBM AT did that after all. That could be way too complicated though, and maybe it could mess with some internal devices ... What do you think ?

We've made some more research on that topic on theretroweb and we now think but can't really prove that this chipset is a Toshiba gate array programmed with an ALD design. ALD being also known to relabel UMC and headland chipsets, which could explain the sarc 2015, but so far it's tough to find …

It seems to be some sort of programmable ASIC. Any documentation that may have existed is probably lost to time.

This one may be trickier, Uniflash usually supports pentium+ motherboard, and NSSI supports 64KB bioses at most, but this 486 has a 128KB bios, so it might fall right into the spot where there's no software that can dump such bios. Now it's still worth a check, just in case uniflash manages it.

It's been several times I see you reporting random slowdowns in windows. Are you connected to the ethernet ? If not you should give a static IP address or disable the NIC entirely, it's a known win9x bug that has the tendency to cause hiccups and slow boot times like this. Iirc that's due to how the …

Thank you ! I'm quite surprised to see UT score so low considering how well Q3 runs. Actually I think if you want to benchmark the first version of the unreal engine you should test it with unreal gold. I know there's a timedemo here (I don't know how to run it though)
