Please use this guide for performing mods (at least for getting to work in single mode): http://www.rom.by/articles/S370/_english_part3.htm And you will not get it to boot or stable running in most cased without bridging AK4 to VTT (preferrably through resistor, but works mostly without too).

Ah sorry my mistake. Did not bother to open up the case 😜 Anyway, it works well with Tualatins though obviously needs modified MSI slokets.

Yes, it uses 24+10 pin PSu but standard 24pin PSU is adaptable by re-arranging pins and adding separate 10pin connector.

It is Tulip TC40. Regular COAST module does not fit, the Compaq one looks to be right physically.

Also mentioned here, Compaq AP550 which is a bit customised version of OR840 (has onboard sound, LAN, SCSI).

To each their own but Via chipsets are not the best performers with Pentium III, also are glitchy. Pretty much best performer is 440BX (excluding i840 and SiS DDR one).

If your board supports only minimum of 1.8 v vcore then just use slocket with Coppermine (133MHz is also possible) or try to find Powerleap adapter and can run Tualatin also. Though it is much easier just to buy a BX board that works with Tualatin with regular slocket.

Just buy some nice BX motherboard (like Asus P3B-F, P2B later revisions, similar ones from Abit, Gigabyte etc) and modify a slocket to use Tualatin, will run nicely at 133MHz FSB too, only thing is that AGP will be at 89 MHz which is no problem on 99% nVidia cards and 3DFx cards. Abit ZM6 supports 100MHz FSB so you can run any coppermine CPU there (even 133 MHz versions albeit at overclocked AGP which is no problem to V3).

MSI 6905 ones can also be used with small modifications, ver 2.3. Also if wanting to use Coppermine just buy Slot1 CPU's, no point messing with S370 ones.

My TC40 works just fine with two 32MB sticks (total 64MB), of course without COAST it is uncached..

It is easy to modify this board for Tualatin, I had GA-6ZMA (mATX with 440ZX chipset) back in 2004-2005 working with Celeron 1.2 GHZ @ 1.6 Ghz (133 MHz FSB) after I tested few samples, B steping worked well.
