^The year typically refers to the date of first release of a particular architecture or CPU family (80486 in this case), AFAIK. The "233" in the second line points to your particular 486SX as having been manufactured on the 33rd week of 1992.

You have set the FDD type in the BIOS to match your attached FDD... right? You should be able to choose between 3.5" 1.44MB/3.5" 720KB/etc each for the A: and B: drives.

You could try to open them and search the part number of the MCU chip inside (these types of card readers are usually single-chip designs) and see if you can locate drivers that way.
