Its compressed. 1st 64 kb seems to be the compressed ROM, 2nd 64 kb is an option ROM (SCSI?). When open the file with winrar it seems to decompress the compressed ROM to a 128 kb file (attached). It would be easy to patch this file but I dont know how to recompress and get it running... Can you try …

Sorry didnt see your reply. For flashing the BIOS in pre-Pentium PCs you need an external EPROM writer such as the TL866. The board on the picture has a PLCC-ROM therefore make sure you get one with an adapter included...

I dont think you are able to use a Hard Drive on the IDE Port of a CT3990 under DOS because it needs to be initialized by a driver first. And this driver only support CD-ROM drives. You can however connect a IDE-HD to Soundcards which are configured with Jumpers and boot from them via XT-IDE. …

That discussion is rather boring. I like the design of the card and its missing in my collection. Already own the original ss. Dont care about Sound quality will not use it anyway. Compare the serial of the card on my Photo and the one of the 35 EUR auction...not the normal price i think.

No, you wont have a display on VGA. But you will hear the output on the speaker. 386/486 is supported if the chipset does not require special initialization...

Took a quick look at them. The 1208/1209 are the LO/HI parts of the main Bios, in the combined file (128kb) you can see the entry JMP at Offset 1FFF0: EA5BE000F0 JMP F000:E05B There are not many strings in the file, therefore I dont think the BIOS has an integrated Setup or Diagnosis. You should …

The driver comes as a boot disk. It loads really quick without a config.sys or autoexec.bat. There is no option and no kind of interaction. It just shows the screen (screenshot on the top of the thread) and asks to reboot. You can also load the config program from DOS. But there are no command line …
