I am currently using a 286 with 1 MB onboard and MR-BIOS, see here How about a MR-BIOS ROM file repository? There is nothing to be entered about RAM. The card-RAM should be autodetected. Before that I tried the card in a 486 with 4 MB, same result. Do you also own the Rampat?

Yes, already cleaned the ISA-connector with a rubber. Will test the switch with my multimeter...

Wait...chip ground is (-) ? I assumed the top side of the battery is (+). But the top side of the battery is connected to Pin 1. And there is a connection between Pin 1 and Pin 12 (GND). That mean the top side of the Battery is the (-) side..?! Filename ds.jpg File size 489.78 KiB Views 282 views

I have to admit not the nicest work I did here :-( I was right the baterry is connected to Pins 1+24. But there was no Charge left at all so I had to dig further to see where is + and -. So I "eliminated" the Dallas Eliminator ;-) When comparing to the datasheet the Pins 1+24 are missing on the Dallas. I assume these are bent to the top and the battery is connected there? Does it makes sense to start at this location to look for the battery? Unfortunately there is not much to find …

I have tried 1 MB SIMMs with 2 Chips and with 8 Chips. I installed 2 identical of them on the card in banks 1 + 2.

After solving the password issue you should also check the corrosion. These seem to be some power rails for the ISA slots and I dont think they still have condcutivity? How did you connect the CR2032? Is it currently being loaded on the board like an accu? You shouldnt do that 😉 Filename cr.jpg …

Usually 24h should be enough. There is also some green corrosion damage left under the battery. But I dont think thats the reason for your problem. Wait some days. If it doesnt work, you should think about getting a programmer. Its likely the message also appears with the other BIOS. I see these …
