Re: What modern activity did you get up to today?

in Milliways
Modern activities for retro PCs! Designed a Socket 478 water block that can be made with minimal CNC (none at all if desired) + a saw, drill press, sharp knife, metal files, taps and a soldering iron. Need to keep overclocked NetBurst P4 from bursting into flames. https://i.imgur.com/GPp83r2.png …

Re: [Build Log]: Dimension95 - A Retro DOS/95 Build & Project for Modern Internet Interactivity... and much more!

Once again, tradition rears its ugly head. As I mentioned in another post of mine, the PSU I was planning to use for this project died (Corsair CX850M). While in storage inside its box. Approximately 45 days out of warranty. Before even getting the chance to test my cables. While I'll attempt to …

Re: [WIP] BlackLight: A Pentium II / NT 4.0 Multimedia Workstation feat. Hand Built Water Cooling Blocks

So in the end I decided against the window. If I decide to keep the build, it'll make putting a monitor on top of it quite difficult. With that out of the way... today I did some painting. Daisy chaining floppy connectors doesn't work with the pin terminal so I opted for 3x Molex, and can use …

Re: [Build Log]: Dimension95 - A Retro DOS/95 Build & Project for Modern Internet Interactivity... and much more!

Sea parcel showed up today. No tracking updates. Just showed up at the door. Was getting worried that it was lost given all my other parcels by sea had tracking the whole way. A few pics of the (admittedly boring) goodies. I'd also obtained some things since the last post. https://i.imgur.com/ …

Ran the latest build of eDuke32 on an XP (x86) machine with a Pentium 4 2.4GHz Northwood, 1GB RAM and a Matrox Mystique. It was... rough, to say the least. 100% pegged CPU usage, eats an additional 1.5GB of HDD space for page file, barely playable framerates. This is with Polymer renderer off. It …
