The 3D games you mentioned are very demanding for a 200/233 MHz system, so you should definitely opt for the 233 MMX to squeeze the last few percents of performance out of your system. Especially Quake III Arena (and the rest of the Q3 engine titles) will be more than thankful for the small perf …

Second or third system. While being period correct, a 200 MHz system could prove to be a bottleneck for certain games. To make full use of the card it should be a PII or better.

That is an interesting comparison, thanks a lot. I especially dig the games you were using. They accurately resemble late 90's/early 2000's gaming. The comparison itself doesn't show any surprises. It pretty much confirms my expectations and experiences from back in the day.

Placing a high bid early on is mostly useful to scare people off who might have thought about participate but it only works if you have a competitor with a similar bid so that a high bid is actually visible to everyone. On the other hand it is very likely to just lead into a bid war in the end …

Probably an addon-board for specific use-cases like CAD, like ATI's 8514 Ultra, which relies on a present VGA core for everything else.
