They are open at the back but it is still not a well thought out design. Things you need to lift up to eject its content should be redesigned. It would greatly profit from openings on the side which allow for taking the CPU's out without lifting up the entire tray.

That battery compartment looks strange. What kind of batteries are you supposed to stick in there? Metal plates also look suspiciously glossy to me. Seems to be a recent home-made modification if you ask me.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how many cycles this program needs in DOSBox for operating at its intended speed. Since I have no reference all I can do is to fiddle around but it seems there is only a very thin line between too many cycles and painful slowness... Will test on a real 486 DX-2 66 …

This is a Radeon 7500 PCI (64 MB) for Alpha workstations. So pretty much useless unless there is one in your possession.

Interesting. Didn't know that the board layout allowed for interchangeability of the chipset. Chipsets must be completely pin-compatible to each other.

I'm not really into processors so forgive my ignorance: Were these CPU's already rare when they were new or is this just the typical price inflation that's independent from the production run size (a.k.a "retro/vintage")?
