Will do folks, thank you. I had a Ti4200 back in the day and it always served me well, I remember I think it was Battlefield 2 that finally wouldn't run on it at all!

Thanks for the info. I have a TI4200 which has been more or less perfect for what I need it for anyway. Might still chuck the 6800 in there, since I have a Voodoo3 as backup. I'd be curious if Half Life is affected.

Thanks, I couldn't remember the name of what was missing. Is there a certain era of games that need 8bit palletised support? From what I remember it's possibly FF7 and 8 at the very least.

Thanks a ton! Using it in pure DOS ended up working and it's now playable. The music quality is perfect, whereas the voices are pretty bad (moreso than you'd expect), something's definitely not right, but it's playable for sure. Another edit! Changing my IRQ to 7 worked, the game sounds perfect now! …

Alright some progress thanks for that program. The game now sort of works. Using that program it slow my PC to a CRAWL but with general midi and voices the game works properly! Using opl though the game for some reason is way way way too slow. Like a frame every 10 seconds slow. I don't think my cpu …

Thanks, I actually had to use the dipswitches on my motherboard to get it down to 800mhz. I would imagine that's still too fast though. I don't think I can disable my cache on this board, at least via the bios.

Yeah should have given more details. Works fine with everything else except fate of atlantis (and having just now tested it the Last Crusade). On Win98SE 1.4 Tualatin Gigabyte GA 6VTXE Ti 4200.

Hi folks. Just wondering if someone can tell me if they can get this sound card and this game working together. No matter what I do I can't get anything working. If I use my Vortex2 to emulate SB it actually does work, so I'm not sure what's going on. Thanks.

I think I fixed it now. Stupid on my part really, I changed the port to 240 from 220 and it works fine, wavetable included. It wasn't showing as any conflicts and I've ran the card fine before so not sure what the issue was.

After hunting around I was able to get a Vortex2 based card installed and working on my Windows 98 PC. A3D really is something special. Half Life sounds incredible with it, and playing with the audio demos is fun too.
