I thought ati cards dont support 8-bit paletted textures but then I realized that 2 ati rage cards that I own both support it. What was the last ATI card to support 8-bit textures? Rage 128 I believe. Radeon onwards don't have it for sure. Rage Pro has it for sure. Rage 128.. I think has it.

The HS is indeed mounted 180 degrees rotated. It's really quite facepalm worthy. The TIM looks like AS5 or something similar to that and it can be a real pain to clean up the mess. To be honest, I don't see the point. Even with the Roland GS sample set it doesn't sound exactly like a Sound Canvas, so why bother? GUD and Buran soundfonts for the X2 sound way better to me than the GS samples do, but to each their own I guess..

I mean you would get the default 512K sample ROM for AWE32 music option alongside a genuine OPL3 but that's not worth $60 at all. You can buy a YMF71x card + an AWE64 Value for maybe even half that price, stick them both in and get the same thing.
