I did not believe you so I went ahead and looked at the Quake results on thandor.net.. https://thandor.net/benchmark/33 And yeah, you are right, the P75's result falls right in line with where you would extrapolate for a 60MHz FSB processor.

What you are experiencing has more to do with how shit Chrome is than how old the Phemon X4 is. I have an Athlon II X4 box that works quite well on the modern web with Firefox as well as media playback including x265. I doubt the original Phenom would be much slower than that if at all.

I've gone through several different options after starting this thread and settled on these as the most viable options: a) Just connect a 3xAA or 3xAAA external battery holder b) Buy this and solder it on.

I never had a proper P66 to test but my P75 was so slow compared to my P100 that I presumed they would be roughly equal at performance even if I had one.

SBPro compatibility on a card that does 44Khz/16-bit PCM is better than a normal SB16 IMO too. To each their own of course, but on a system very similar to what the OP built I used a YMF719 card instead, for these reasons.
