I too have some MA5ASOUND cards. As far as I know the cards are not all just straight up MA5ASOUND.. I've done a similar repair job in the past: Trash to Treasure side project: Voodoo 3 3000 Restoration I replaced C94 with a 0.1uF 16V 0603 and it worked perfectly. C95 is a 10uF 16V SMD Electrolytic as labelled on the part. Both are fairly common.

I spent a while figuring out the jumpers of my new ALI PCI486 board, the CPU jumpers are now all traced out and most of the functions are now known of them. Now to figure out exactly what they must be set for various CPUs. Cyrix support seems to be the main thing, they have several pins on them …

Early AthlonXP (1800+ to 2200+) for me is a Radeon 8500 affair. Late AthlonXP (2500+ to 3200+) is Radeon 9700/9800 for sure.

Wouldn't this rob the General Hardware forum of a good chunk of its content? Or maybe that is the purpose? If anything, I think Hardware Projects is the one that actually deserves a forum as these tend to get buried away and require visibility more than simple repair job threads.

C is a good place to start for any platform and DOS is no exception. There are tons of editors or IDEs out there for C, it's a matter of taste: some people are masochists and stick to emacs or vim but I tend to do the code on a moder PC using zerobrane for lua and visual studio code for everything …
