Yeah I definitely do. Between 130 GOG games, 320 Steam games and 50 or so on epic, ubisoft and Origin, not to mention a collection of DOS, Amiga, PS1, PS2 and Dreamcast games on disk and installed on my HDD I think I'll never run out if I played everything!

Can you do a benchmark for your PC, say 3DMark 2003 and 2005? I've got a 9500GT DDR2 which is basically an 8600GT which performance wise is very similar to a 7600GT and I've wondered how it would compare to the 6800 series. This is on a 939 Athlon x2 4200+ though.

It's worth remembering the context of the 970: It cost £260 which in 2022 sounds unimaginable. If Nvidia released the 4070 for £330 (thanks inflation) but it had 12GB fast RAM and 4GB slow RAM I think lots of people would take it!

I think the 8600GT deserves to be on that list more than the newer cards. The 8600GT was underwhelming, often being slower than the 7600GT it replaced, whilst not really being fast enough to use its DX10 features. It also had the general 8 series problem that I can't even remember what it is …

The only places I seem to have any luck buying hardware is Facebook marketplace, Gumtree and eBay. And it's not often that something pre-2000 comes up on FB and Gumtree to be honest. Charity shops and CEX are good for cheap games through.
