I have an MS-6191 Slot A motherboard that has a 550MHz orion CPU in it. I bought a 700MHz Tbird CPU, and it won't post, I don't get any beeps at all. Is my motherboard compatible with this CPU? I thought it was as it has the Irongate 751 chipset. I am running the latest 1.6 BIOS.

I bought a 4000RPM fan to replace the old fan on the CPU and it is pretty much silent which is fantastic! I am not sure how fast it is spinning, although it is a 4,000RPM fan in a normal 12v header so it must be doing 4,000 RPM right?

I am trying to play this on a Athlon 550MHz but the game seems to be CPU bound and plays too fast (the countdown clock at the top of the screen count downs faster than actual seconds!). Is there a software-based way around this?

I've actually run a late P4 without the fan (with the heatsink) for a good half an hour, during a Windows install. It reached 80c. The BIOS had previously reset to default and thermal protection was off 😒 Also how have I not seen this video before!

My motherboard doesn't have options for overclocking in the bios or any jumpers sadly. Would the 700MHz still be faster than the older 800 at stock, in games?

Thanks, changing the .160 to .ROM was the step I was missing. Got it flashed now. I don't have a good reason really, I will be putting a faster CPU in soon and want to be sure the BIOS will recognise it! Thanks for your help

Thanks for the help! So I would go to file, which gives me the option to specify a file to load and a file to save, on the C: drive.would I be loading or saving the new bios? It do I literally just press "go ahead" without setting anything?
