My board has different Local Bus IDE. It's Appian ADI2. Also it doesn't have any factory repairs.

So far my board has successfully booted into WIndows 95 OSR2. 256kb 20ns L2 cache had to be disabled completely though.

So I've acquired the famous IBM Blue Lightning board. I can boot into MR-BIOS and RTC charge is fine. But for some reason I can only see black screen after the initial memory count. Is it a normal behaviour for that board? If not, where could be the problem?

Is it safe to say that the bump in voltage in itself is not enough to kill the CPU ? 3.2v is not enough to kill that CPU. I would start worrying after 3.5v.

Cyrix Socket 7 CPUs are interesting to mess around for "academic" purposes. But it's not something you would want to use overclocked in a daily retro PC for games.

I would try Expendable also. Because S3 Savage 4 is not helping with CPU scaling in high resolution. They still show 0% improvement after using the PNY GF2 and Detonator v6.50. And they won't show any, with vsync on (which is broken anyway).

i740 was not a bad card, it was only a bit late to the market Actually it wasn't all that late. i740 just thrashes Riva 128ZX with SDRAM memory, which was released in the same year.

Might as well just go for an unlocked Antlon XP Thoroughbred-B build (or Geode NX). Capable to do 3x multiplier and has tweakable TDP all the way down to 6 watts (maybe even less).
