Well lets just say that back then I had already started disliking this whole world build around this sport. It's called tribalism and it's inherent to human psyche due to out ancestry. Smart people use that in politics to promote their agenda, especially in nationalist oriented groups.

many of their "fans" have a behavior that is pretty much religious, or cult-like in nature That sums up their hostile opinions on third-party repairs (or any repairs in reality) - "You're defiling sacred Apple technology!". The irony of good old "1984" commercial is totally lost.

It would be unhealthy for society to give big companies this level of power. They kinda already have it. For example, Disney shaping up copyright laws to how they see fit .

And it's very easy not to buy such products. It's less easy, because their competitors sooner or later would also want you to buy new smartphone over choice to make small repairs to your current one. Just look at Samsung nowadays. And what would you do when you've ran out of options?

The biggest problem will be the Windows Updates on unsupported systems. Wait for major update => Reinstall OS with integrated update. Eat, sleep, rave, repeat. Already tried and tested with Windows 10 Ameliorated, which just straight out axed Windows Update due to privacy concerns.

are not real eight core cpu on the strict meaning of the "core" word. There's no standard which defines that each CPU core must have floating point unit.

To be fair, insane prices for old AMD CPUs is nothing new. Ludicrous prices for some Phenom II CPUs, especially 6 core, were not some unheard-of occurrence.

People with less reason than money. You can get Ryzen 1600/1700 with a motherboard and some RAM for that price. So X58, cheap CPU's, expensive motherboards. Not that expensive now due obsolete BIOS, which has problems with modern GPUs, NVMEs, etc.
