Now worth it. Look for a cheap QX9650 with unlocked multiplier if you absolutely sure you want to upgrade. Or just overclock.

I'm rying to squeeze the last bit of life ot of my core 2 quad rig Just overclock your current CPU. Core 2 family has some bottlenecks with FSB anyway and 9x multiplier CPUs are perfect to overclock. I think I should finally need to find some 3rd party cooler more appropriate for a 120W TDP CPU …

Are Chips F64300 cards any good? EDIT: Ok, I did some research and apparently they are quite fast for DOS games, on par with late Tseng/S3 cards.

The issue you are going to have more then anything is trying to power like the FX 5800 and 5900 cards on older setups with modern power supplies I thought main source of power for FX 5900 series was 12v rail.

CT1740 / CT1750 cards are just fine Only certain revisions with oldest DSP and they still have DMA clicking and still very noisy.

Reflashed Radeon 9800SE. In the case of the 6800GT cards, I remember they had DDR2 instead of the expected GDDR3. ASUS did 6800GT with 128mb DDR officially. GeForce 6800GT DDR2 were actually cheaper.

Core 2 chips didn't quite managed that. Overclocked Yorkfield can still manage modern games. AM3 Athlon II or Phenom II Pc as a cheap replacement for that Core, they are fairly comparavle to 1st gen Corei They can compete with Core 2 Quad and at best just slightly faster, if overclocking is not …

The Voodoo5 is roughly on par with a GeForce 2 give or take. If CPU can keep up with T&L emulation.

what I remember is that the early ones were designed for the Mendocino Celeron CPUs Those usually don't have low voltages. Besides both ABIT Slotket III and Soltek SL-02A V4.0 officially support Coppermine.
