the only material damages I can see are the missing SMD component (labeled R143JNB89, but googling this gives me nada, so if anyone can tell me what exactly I need to replace this with I would be grateful As I've said before - standard 14.318 mhz crystal oscillator.

Acumos AVGA2 / Cirrus Logic 5402-5420, Western Digital 90C11-LR/WD90C30-LR. Pretty much same performance for ISA, but don't look as "noble" as Tseng cards (Acumos AVGA2 is a dwarf). On PCI side probably some Alliance cards. No idea how they are compatible though.

Banshee is not right choice and sometimes will bottleneck even K6-2. But 3DNow! support on ATI cards is probably horrble anyway.

Terratec? Sure, but extremely niche, not anywhere GUS level. Probably some Onkyo cards, ESI Juli@, X-Fi Elite Pro and it's clone.

Regular 6800s are usually easy to obtain and there's no guarantee that fixing SMDs will help your card.

so far I feel like the 5v issue is somewhat overblown. Of course it is. I've seen many AT PII class systems working perfectly fine with 200/230w PSUs.

The detached (and ruined) component is labeled R143JNB89 so I assume it's some kind of 143 Ohm resistor? That's 14.318 mhz quartz oscillator for AGP/PCI bus.

So I have Canopus Voodoo 2 12mb in my possession which have a weird bug. Everytime it overrides VGA signal in games all screen is covered in slight red tint which disappears when 2D card is unplugged from pass-through cable. Does anyone had such experience with this cards?

but not many talk about the actual GPU performance increase as a result. Because it can't be separated from FSB increase and major performance boost that comes with it.

Could any generic controllers, such as Goldstar Prime 2C, be used as floppy/COM only solution in a 8-bit slot? Sauce: notorious ATC-1415 486 PCI board which have one 8-bit slot and lack integrated floppy/COM/LPT.

Off the top of my head, GLQuake, GLDoom I, GLDoom II, Forsaken, Carmageddon, Descent I, Descent II I don't find regular dips below 10 fps enjoyable or playable whatsoever.

I would also check if any major chips (north/south bridges) on the board gets too hot when powered on.
