Tecnically, two molex connector are not required. Also you can significantly tone down card power usage by soft voltmodding.

You can use X-Fi panel with Audigy 2 and vice-versa. Although external boxes for Audigy/Audigy 2/Audigy 4 Pro are more handy and cool.

Change IRQ in Windows? Also enable "PNP OS installed" option. Maybe OS can sort it out without your intervention.

I see I can adjust the memory clock from Powerstrip, but I'd like to know S3 Virge core and memory clocks are tied. I think, EDO cards are working with 1:1 divider and SGRAM with 3:4 divider. So if you card has SGRAM you probably can overclock it up to 90-110 Mhz (67-83 Mhz core). If you card has …

Major note: vertical retrace command does not affect VESA modes in the Build engine games. For example, Diamond SpeedStar A55 has forced VSync in BIOS and S3VBEFIX (at its current state) can't fix that, which results in horrible performance.

Is there a matrix out there that organizes cards by tiers following an OS & processor platform two dimensional matrix? That's too much trouble to make and CPU compatibility, for the most part, is not an issue.

What was other options then because the SB Pro 2.0 was not the issue? Games, which properly supported SB Pro 2 digital stereo sound (not OPL3 stereo music), in most cases also had SB16 support.
