Anyone knows if it will cause any compatibility problems to enable udma using xdma.sys in dos? I started to wonder because speedsys stopped showing hard drive benchmark results after I put it in config.sys.

Even with more modern 486 pci motherboard, I don't see any difference in performance if cpu is in WB or WT mode and for L2 cache WT mode seems to be faster than WB. That makes it harder to actually test if WB is turned on except to believe what cpuchk says about the mode.

I have a 486 motherboard that officially supports up to 128Mb fpm or edo sticks and those generally have 16 chips which would mean 8Mb per chip. All the older 486 motherboards seem to only officially support up to 2Mb per chip ones.

I think most motherboards that support the lower voltage should work. Do you mean pure isa/vlb motherboards or do you also consider ones that have both vlb and pci slots? I have a FIC 486-VIP-IO motherboard that has both vlb and pci slots and officially supports those dx4 cpus.

I just tested a bit and having Frame=E000 causes crashes when running dos games. It looks like having ems in dos is bit impossible with this motherboard unless there is something else I can do.
