I have just used tiny screwdriver and lift each corner of the cpu in turn. I have never felt like there has been danger of damaging the cpu even if I have done it probably couple dozen times.

I installed some kind of udma driver in dos once and it did make hard drives faster but it also made some software to stop working. I don't remember all the software that stopped working but at least speedsys didn't start so I couldn't benchmark the hard drive in it.

Isn't it good enough with LCD if you have one that does 1:1 and keeps the aspect ration even being widescreen? Like it isn't bad to have 4:3 image with black bars at sides.

I used Seasonic 520W S12II psu with my similar system. I used more power hungry FX-60 cpu though and Geforce FX 5950 ultra video card with my A8V motherboard, so I don't think you need that high wattage in your system.

Only had this one to try it with Crooked text on a cpu. and that didn't change the beeps. I have removed the battery as well. I tried all 3 video cards again and no changes there either. I am starting to think it is very likely this motherboard can't be fixed.
