My Guillemot Maxi Gamer 3D will lock up the computer if it runs at more than 66MHz FSB. Tried on several motherboards and chipsets. (Using the correct PCI divider of course!) It's the most speed sensitive card I have. It also got picky about the case I use it in so I stopped using it completely.

The part number of that (E)EPROM is underneath the sticker. Can't help you with flashing the BIOS though since I'm not in the US. I have had very similar issues with bad cache before. You could try removing the cache and seeing wether this helps with the problem. Good luck!✊

You can use a 75MHz Pentium on all boards that can set a 1.5x multi and 50MHz FSB.

All 486 I know of will only work with four 30pin SIMMs in each bank. Six modules will cause problems.

You have an AMD AM486DX4 so you need to set your jumpers according to option (E) AMD DX/DX2/DX4 (NV8T) (pdf page 7) and set the voltage to 3V (4V if 3V doesn't do it). The weird cable on the PSU is meant to power a turbo display. Let us know how it went! 😀

The last 486 chips (i.e. Am5x86) supported the 4x multiplier or the 3x multiplier, previous 486DX4 chips had the 3x multiplier. Both needed 3.x volt to run. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can set a DX4 to run at 2x multi so with some boards you should be able to run it at 50MHz FSB / 100MHz internal @3.xV. Afaik 3.6V is within tolerance for regular DX4 CPUs and it is very possible they chose the higher voltage intentionally to help with stable operation of any 3.xV CPU and maybe overclocking. 3.6V should not cause damage to any 486 with heatsink and fan so I wouldn't worry about it. The clock …

Sorry it took so long to respond. Many of the ATX connector's pins are connected to internal layers. The ground pins are for sure, as are the main power rails. Did you check wether any of the larger transistors between CPU slot and RAM slots connect to the +3.3V pins on the AGP connector?
