What are you using that has 4 RCA cables for the RGB signal only? RGBs = Red, Green, Blue, Sync. That's something the NEC PC Engine for example outputs on its ext. port. VGA requires H-Sync and V-Sync, so a simple cable won't work. You need a converter. I'd use a cheap GBS 8220, which will also …

Jumpers are set to 1 MB, but the cache chips are 256 x 1 each, so 256 kb in total. Isn't there a hardware summary screen when the system boots? What does it say?

As for the CF adapter: buy the one that fits best. I mainly use the DOM-style ones (third in your gallery). As for debugger cards, they are all equal. As long as they show POST code and voltages, you can't do wrong.

I'd say TVGA8800 or 8900 as well. Their amount of video memory was not fixed and could be 256, 512, or 1024 KB (for the 8900).

Of course MSCDEX works on an XT. The very first CD-ROM drive, the Philips CM-100 from 1985 used MSCDEX 1.0 and worked fine with an XT. Later versions added features for higher CPUs but still run on a 8088. The driver itself may require a 286, the Sony CDU is a drive from 1993 after all.

These DeskPros are nice, I own one as well (not a SFF one, though). However, take note that these do not use standard parts. You can't just replace the mainboard, floppy drive or CD drive (custom bezel) if they go bad. Not even the PSU is standard in the SFF models.

What's performance like when you de-turbo (using the hotkey)? Did not use that feature yet, also no benchmark tools installed on it so far. Will test that later. You have any more interior pics? I have to make some more. I somehow missed making pictures when the hardware was done and the case still …

There's only a single jumper to change the FSB (ignoring 100 MHz, which this revision does not support). That's where I connected the turbo switch. Works even while the system is running. Real turbo mode exists as well, but that is triggered by a hot-key.

Sorry, yes of course, that's what it is. You use it in your A2000 with the A2286. The janus mouse driver is known for messing up graphics in some cases while drawing the pointer.

Mainly three: 1. PC low-res, same graphics as C64, PC speaker only 2. PC high-res, same graphics as Amiga, PC speaker and Tandy sound 3. FM-Towns, 256-color graphics and CD-DA The FM-Towns version is by far the best.
