Killed Windows ME from my Toshiba TECRA 8000 and installed Windows 2000 Pro instead. Currently running with only 64 MB RAM, but will get upgraded to 192 MB tomorrow.

The DOS Shell that is part of MS-DOS 5.0 (and 6.x by installing the supplement disk) has true multi-tasking functionality. All you have to do is to enable it once. No one cared about it back then (or now), however.

I don't see how Rev. B can be from 1996 when Rev. A is from 1997. Those are probably not retail cards.

No. Apart from the fact that you can't adapt PCIe to ISA, a 286 would not even be able to execute (or even address) the BIOS of the card.

I've got the 690CD, which was probably the best of all. Three IDE channels (one dedicated for CD-ROM drives), RAID 0, 1, and 10 support, and on-board cache up to 16 MB. And it does bus mastering too, of course.

Seams are normal, those pixels are not, however. None of my Voodoo1 cards does that.

That only works if the card supports writing EEPROMs. You can't just toss in some NIC, put an EEPROM onto it and use it as a programming device. If a NIC is used that supports writing/flashing, you still can not use it for an EPROM.

You can't "flash" an EPROM without a programmer. It's not flash memory. You can not use a Flash ROM (or EEPROM for that matter) either and flash it that way, as there's simply no write logic present.

Did you set the games to SB Pro instead of SB16? Since the Aztech does SB Pro only and probably won't output any sound when trying to use it as SB16.

Could also be a Mac version. Once Windows has loaded the driver, the BIOS is no longer important and the card will work. If the BIOS would be corrupt, the PC should beep because of the non-presence of a video card.

Remove SET BLASTER from your autoexec.bat. CTCM will set this for you with the correct values. Note that SET BLASTER does *not* configure the sound card to use these values. It's just to make it easier for DOS games to find the card. For Plug&Play cards, always leave that to CTCM instead of setting …

If that's the case, a joystick-to-MIDI adapter would be enough, as that has MIDI In. However, I read analog audio all the time, and 3.5 mm headphone jack, so... Anyway, the wavetable connector is TTL, whereas MIDI uses current loop. You can't just make a direct connection between then.

The BIOS is from 10.1998, the PIII was introduced in February 1999. It can not know the PIII.
