Upper left is a standard i/o card with two serial ports, one parallel port, and one game port. The upper right card is some sort of data processing or very special networking card. No idea what exactly, but most likely useless. The large card is an ESDI controller. Not for a PC it seems, however.

Better install a USB 2.0 card. When I build my P1 MMX 200 system, I used an HX-based mainboard as well (A-Trend ATC-2000). Yes, it has USB 1.0. And there's no way to get it working. In case you really modify the files in the wrong place: Windows up to 9x had a tool called "sysedit.exe", which automatically opens config.sys, autoexec.bat, win.ini, system.ini, etc. for editing. I'm not sure if the problem has to do with the cd drive at all. Sounds like a more serious hardware issue to me. Could you please try booting from the Win95 or 98 boot floppy disk? It has CD-ROM support. Check if that is working.

so i just slap that oakcdrom.sys in the same /dos folder then rename all the lines that have the videcdd.sys? Yes, the rest stays the same.

In config.sys, change all lines with VIDECDD.SYS to: DEVICEHIGH=C:\DOS\VIDECDD.SYS /D:OPTICAL At the very end, add: [common] LASTDRIVE=Z In autoexec.bat, change the MSCDEX.EXE line to: LH C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:OPTICAL /E /L:X You may change "X" to whatever drive letter you want the drive to have.

The Ti4200 is already RoHS compilant, so soldering on that is not that easy if you are a beginner. Getting the cap out requires more heat and some flux if you don't want to cause damage. I'd suggest to get some broken piece of hardware first and do some training on that.
