Opened up Proliant 1500 power supply and found why would not power on, was broken track downstream of rectifier diode bridge on one AC side. Exactly. Fast then fizzes out then slow on lots of small files. Best on large files. Doesn't make sense. Used same sticks both cases and is very consistent. The usb sticks I have are reliable and are usb 3.0 plugged in usb 3.0 ports. I don't like this how it works. Good suggestion on NVME to usb 3.0 …

I also have 70 too with 16MB and modified board to take 20MHz and used AMD 25mHz CPU , have not gotten around to source a scsi controller and scsi hard drive. Get another set of floppy disks. I like 3M best as long as it is sealed. Old disks that were sitting too long especially poor quality ones tend to degrade prematurely. Cheers,
