Bought remains of Compaq 486-based XL, important item is power supply, unfortunately it is not working but this is my least worries. This way, I can document the deskpro XL power supply! Now next thing to purchase is Deskpro M to find one with power supply. "Holy grail". Cheers,

486SLC2 is by IBM is not Cyrix's. It is well designed CPU by IBM with powerful 8K cache built in. Very nice processor, I wish Intel did same way in place of 386SX. These are the plastic flow patterns during molding. Molten plastic is injected into mold and usually when correctly done, you see very little patterns. Cheers,

No problem. Trying to get WD90C30 or 31 ISA for old DOS stuff and decent speed, compatible. S3 ISA or CL is pretty hard to get and tend to be expensive. Hercules Dynamite, Had one back in the day, paid by mail order of all interesting fact, will work on 50MHz VLB very well in generic SiS 461 VLB AMD 486DX 40 overclocked to 50 machine. Made perfect doom/doom II machine. If you are done with the WD90C31 video card, I'm interested. Cheers,

To your response, yes, if the fan is sticky, or rattling noisily even not spinning freely when fingers spun quickly to test and watch it spin to stop. Use oil only. On mine: I did check the fan's bearing freedom by fingers flick and fan spun freely and magnetic wiggled to stop. Rarely see a fan die. …
