I've run Win98SE on a DX2-66 in the past. It was miserable!!! 95 was much better, but (as already mentioned) I would recommend the OSR2.x updated versions over the original release. Duke Nukem 3D is probably the best of all these, that is, if you like laughing and laughing and laughing for hours. It's ridiculously fun with the expacks and the laser trip mines. Doom or Doom II is also a classic and is still fun multiplayer.

I did some of my own testing with Future Crew's Unreal - same thing as Panic. Sound doesnt start to smooth out until running the 7800 cycles. Tried a bunch of different config settings - like prebuffer and blocksize but nothing seemed to help. :( Future Crew were so close to the hardware writing …

I have read somewhere (some hot-433 mob informations)that there is no ide controller driver of 8886AF chip in Windows 95 could this be the problem?
