Im fixing a 486 board that had barrel battery acid leak. From no response on boot I am now getting 10 beeps which is a cmos error. LOL he would have to shape the leads to fit if radial too. I guess he'd better get used to pliers, then. not sure why you would need pliers for either, those wires are paper soft and legs on new caps are pretty long its a matter of sticking 1 wire through then bending the cap around to fit the …

yeah it fit no problem new capacitors come with pretty long legs, that was not a issue. nothing blew up and multimeter shows 5v over one of the cap legs so its getting juice.

I found my local shop has some monolithic capacitors in stock, I'll call them but who knows if they will be open during COVID-19 although half the shops are still open. This is how they look prior to removal, external battery power goes to them so im guessing 5v rating should be enough? ps maybye thats a 5ZZ if there is such a thing?

all it says is 522 104, but I have another identical capacitor (they were both side by side) can I determine the voltage using a multimeter on the second capacitor I removed?

the thing I notice with ebay there is alot of parts at very high prices but they don't sell quick, so its good if you buy cheap for collecting but selling it at a profit may not be a quick transaction

I found a comport test utility that comes with cutemouse. It would not detect any of the comport settings I set in the bios. So in the end I founded a isa io card with serial ports and now got the mouse working. perhaps the mouse chipset is faulty on my board
