Re: Windows 11 has been released

This is obviously the "Windows to skip", aka win3.1, WinME, Vista, 8, etc. Hey, Windows 3.1 was good too. It was from WinXP and later that they messed it up. But if we place Me ahead of 2000 in chronological order, then I can rephrase it: “It was from Me and later…” Anyway, I struggled an entire …

Re: Bruninho's Virtual Machines (Windows, Linux, Mac)

Looks like I may have a trip scheduled to Spain next month , so I am looking forward to finally getting that damn M1 MacBook Air. I need to work as well, but I can't take my 2013 rMBP with me in this trip, so I will use the opportunity to test drive Windows 11 in a VMware VM on my dad's 2018 rMBP. …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Latest. 0.83.18 currently I’ve tried with all older builds back to 0.83.7, no joy too. I’m on a 2013 rMBP “13 i7 2.8GHz & 16Gb RAM, macOS Big Sur. The other Windows build I tested was .17 A clean w98SE install and a fresh installed NFS2SE, and @almeath dosbox-x build didn’t run the game too. The …

Re: Windows 11 has been released

I thought that it already was? Since VS Code is an electron app? I'm talking about Visual Studio. Visual Studio Code has nothing to do with it, and is an inferior product. Same for VS for Mac. Ah, well. I do not use VS or VS Code anyway :P My preferred IDE for my area of work is Coda 2, from Panic. …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Yeah, they match. Games I am testing: Need For Speed II SE, FIFA 98 Road To World Cup, FIFA 99. They run fine without sound. When there is a sb16 or sb16vibra, chaos ensues. For example, Dosbox-x crashed when I simply moved the Windows volume slider to max. When running NFS2SE, crashes to windows …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Anyone knows why DOSBox-X struggles so much with sound blaster emulation in Windows 98SE? Every game I throw at it crashes, except when sbtype=none and I can play all them but without sound.

Re: Bruninho's Virtual Machines (Windows, Linux, Mac)

Another DOSBox-X update, another test. Still unable to play any game with a sound blaster card enabled. Have to set sbtype=none to have some fun without sound though. I've spent the entire week tryin several dosbox.conf settings and no luck. It's quite funny: SB16 used to work under DOSBox when …
