I wouldn't say that type of RAM is particularly known for going bad... so check solder on all pins... if good and shiny and nothing cracked off the board, consider that it might be a symptom of the power supply to the RAM being not as good as it should be somehow, either noise/filtering or lower …

I'd say, aim to pick up a 1200 / 1266 with 133/266 FSB .. it's away from the expensive hotspots like 1.4Ghz fastest or magic 1Ghz.... will be 9x or 9.5x then you can run it at 900/950 and most boards are quite comfortable at 115 if you want the Ghz. 5160s don't have onboard IDE but I have seen a lot of later Turbo XT clones with IDE on board, along with a full whack of i/o and even video. There are also some 8 Bit IDE cards, but they are nowhere near common.
