That is awesome. This must be some sort of museum piece they only made a handful of because I can't find any trace of this product beyond the aforementioned. This is the sort of thing that would make you stand out at a retro computer convention if you had one.

I think wav is trivial because it doesn't require decoding. The challenge with mp3 decoding is that it's floating point intensive (so I've heard). So there's no real practical use for it on a 386... this is more of a pushing the limits of old hardware thing. To my knowledge, Open Cubic is the only …

Ok so if the checkbox doesn't work, A3D is not being detected. You have to put the dlls in your HL root folder. These are A3D.dll, Audio3D.dll and A3DAPI.dll. The version of these dlls will dictate whether and how well the effect works. Also your HL version should be 1.1.0.10 or whatever version …
