I managed to get a nice memory map by moving the pageframe up 1 row (using the M7 switch in EMM386), prohibiting UMBs above that and moving MSCDEX in the boot order. This fills my 81k of UMBs out of 90k available with very little fragmentation. It also increased XMS memory from 7100k to 7300k …

I tried to run memtest just recently and it complained about being in protected mode. Now the easy way to fix this is simply to run the bootable floppy but it got me thinking... what if I want to switch into real mode without rebooting? Slight de-railment: This board... it says in the specs that it supports USB. There's supposed to be a header on the board somewhere but I'll be damned if I can find it. Should be 4 pins. Has anybody ever connected USB on these things? That would be cool huhuhuhh (in traditional Butthead voice).
