I also just scored a Quadro 980 GXL and running the last Win98 drivers without too many quirks - benches the same as a Geforce Ti4600 in 3DMark 2000 and 2001, so I doubt I'll need to fuss with soft mods.

I just paired a Ti4600 with my Tualatin 1.2 (Celeron), for Windows 98, I think it's a good choice. In the day a better Geforce 4 was often the card of choice for those with lowly Pentium III setups (vs. Pentium 4, Athlon XP rigs) as it gave them a couple more years of gaming life without issue.

The Apple flashed cards did come with DVI, but it's not unheard of for the PCI only cards to be flashed to Mac. Either way, it'll be good to check if the firmware is OK regardless.
