I run ISA at 16MHz on my Acer based 386 machine and it gave very substantial performance increase in graphically intensive games such as Doom (not that you should really play it on a 386 lol). First one, it has both crystals. The others lack 24.576MHz crystal and in windows you'll have issues with 32 and 48KHz audio due to it.

YMF71x cards need no TSRs to run. You can also use my SETYMF utility to init and control the cards, which is a massive improvement over Yamaha's own software.

The chip package can pretty much only be dissolved by fuming nitric acid, so normal etching supplies are pretty unlikely to produce any results.

in the first 1MB, top 384KB is the upper memory which is used up by system BIOS, video BIOS and video memory in most configulations. All option ROMs and whatever else goes there and most motherboards do not count that area in the memory count.

You can see that there is a spot for parity chip and it'll work if you solder in the chip, I just don't have the chips for it (they're not very easy to get, and in particular 60ns), nor I find it to be any sort of necessity so there's none on these sticks.
