Those old GeForce FX demos still look pretty slick, after pumping up the resolution to 1600x1200 (have to edit the args.txt file). I mean, comparing Dusk Ultra to A New Dawn, the latter uses faaaar more GPU resources seemingly just to put on that last few % of polish.

Some older cards won't have enough memory bandwidth to support 1600x1200x32bit even if they have 8MB available. When you want a pixel clock of over 100MHz then 50MHz EDO RAM, for example, isn't going to cut it.

3Dmark99 doesn't calculate the fps or score correctly on a 486. Even with a Cyrix 5x86-120 it'll run the test but come back with a single-digit score. If you put in a Pentium Overdrive then you can get 500+
