I straitened the pins with an exato knife, could the card be tested with the missing caps? Or do you think those are needed.

great find, some of the cards I got like the voodoo 2 and 1 of the voodoo 1s I knew had issues. Voodoo 2 has major issues but I am going to try to repair it. touching legs on the chips makes me not want to test it, unfortunately I don't have a microscope to try to fix those. I was considering investing in a stereo microscope and a rework station, for other reasons, maybe somone on vogons wants to try and fix the card for me. I knew most of this thats why …

I beleive him/op. I have seen these 28 pin cables and drives. They are usually for laptops or industrial applications. I bought one of those 34 to 28 pin cables of amazon a few months ago.

Depends of the period. Pentium 3 is more period accurate with a voodoo 3 while Pentium 2/ celeron Mendocino is more period accurate with voodoo 2. This mobo must be from 1999 which is more period accurate with the voodoo 3. my stb voodoo 2s were manufactured in 4/1/1999 and I have seen crazy date …

yes the risk is overblown, but it could happen. I have never shocked anything, I always ground and discharge myself before I touch anything. It's possibly more of an issue in extremely dry places and conditions like a desert.
