That one is the best card out of your box. Assuming it works. Its a awe64 value. If you find a ram module it will be able to do sound fonts.

sorry to hear that. you could try testing voltage with a multi meter, to see if the keyboard is getting power? If somthing like you numlock doesn't light up than its not getting power. If it lights up and its not detected than it could be signaling.

super socket 7 with a moderatly slow K6 or a MMX 233 is an amazing platform but its hardly a platform to rule them all. on 98se theres very few software patches I install, because all of those service packs and se2me transformations just make the computer slower. The only patches I find helpful are ones that extend hardware compatibility like USB or something like large hard drives or ram.

I may of or may not of seen a socket 5 with a 430LX on ebay before. That said I wouldn't of bought one, Id be more interested in HX socket 4 rather than LX socket 5. 🤣

hope you get one but my opinion is that the CD is pointless. It's not exotic, rare, or even uncommon hardware, that would warrent needing a driver disc. Also those types of disks are not restore discs, they are just junk disks that come with asus motherboards.
