You should be able to first install XP, then Win7, then Win10, and let BCD manage it all, on a single drive. Yes indeed, done it (and variations with Vista, 8.1 etc) many times. The only problem is that every time you start XP it'll wipe all of your restore points on the later operating systems.

Just browsing around on ebay for old bits and pieces and was struck with curiosity about these floppy drives. I see FD1231H, FD1231M and FD1231T versions. Does anyone know what the difference was between them? Does any particular one have a good or bad reputation?

This http://www.goodells.net/multiboot/ covers just about everything. Also, on PC4, be aware that XP will destroy all system restore points on Vista and 7 every time you boot it!

Just straightened about 10 pins on a Mendocino that had a rough ride through the post. It was packaged in an old CD case, stradling the inner hub so you can imagine the damage to the inner row of pins! Slotted it on the board and the poor old thing seems to have survived 😀

Right at this minute, installing Red Hat 6.2 on a 8gb CF card connected to an 810e/500 MHz mendocino/128mb ram combo. Had to use 'no-hlt' to get the installer to start. Oh look, 'installation ended abruptly', 'you may safely reboot' etc. Ha, 'DISK BOOT FAILURE'. Such fun!

Yes SP6a is installed and a multitude of further updates that came after it. Also, I tried removing the network card in case there was a resource conflict, but still no joy.

No, I've tried 3 different versions from the driver library. And as I'm speaking I've just tried a 4th version on an installation CD that I've just found. That's locked up at 95% too. It must be something funky with my NT4 install.

Not sure using a modern AV is advisable for scanning an old OS. Tried it once, scanning an ME machine from a Vista machine with AVG and it thought a load of the old system files were virus files and stuck 'em in quarantine. ClamWin isn't compatible with 95, is it?

The P2B-DS board is now multi-booting NT4, 2K and Ubuntu 4.10. Haven't figured out networking yet on this original version of Ubuntu and it appears to only be using one CPU (they both show up in NT and 2K). Had to fit a spare PSU as the one original to the case had a dodgy loud fan in it.
