It isn't a SoundFont, the FM synth implementation is in hardware containing a "native" ESFM mode in addition to being OPL3-compatible. DOS games must have a specific driver that uses ESFM mode for MIDI music and DOOM isn't one of them.

^ Yep, sometimes these programs get confused as TSRs. AWEUTIL with the /S command line switch will only initialize the EMU8K without getting it loaded as TSR for MPU-401 emulation, making LH unnecessary. It is harmless though.

You won't be able to use it, being an early Socket 370 motherboard that only supports PPGA Mendocino Celerons. If it somehow worked (would require an adapter and modding), the jumpers for the CPU multiplier wouldn't matter as the multiplier is locked at 7.0x for the PIII-933.

In Wolfenstein 3-D, it is normal that the previous digitized sound gets interrupted if it has the same or lower priority than the new one. The sound system didn't support multiple digitized sounds at the same time.

K6-2 CPUs are mainly competitive with PII and Celeron CPUs in integer workloads and scenarios where the 3DNow! instructions are used (practically non-existent in DOS). To be honest though, I didn't notice the use of shared memory which can create bottlenecks in memory access. 😜
