Radeon X1950 crossfire

Hello, I have the chance to get 2 Radeon X1950 XTX cards, same model but different brands (they are visually the same, ati reference with that huge blowing fan). I found contradictories information about the chance to make them work in crossfire. It is mentioned a so called master card, but I can't …

Re: Bought some non working videocards

Radeon pci x700: backside of the card seems to be missing something at c64 spot. Comparing it to this image: Wow what a good eye, you are definitely right it's missing, furthermore it seems it has been desoldered. Could it be a problem? Since I can't find a way to fix the fan i'm unable to properly …

Re: Bought some non working videocards

PCIE: resolder the joints of the fan connector. If it doesn't work, replace the fan cable. PCI&AGP: check for damaged traces, *get datasheets for the main chips if available and measure +5V voltages. *Edited to clarify. Thank you for the tip, I can confirm that the fan connector works, I tried a 2 …

Bought some non working videocards

Hello, I bought a stock of 13 videocards for a low price, most of them are working, I tested them with a couple of dos benchmarks and in 3dmark99, while 3 are somehow damaged. The pci and agp cards simply don't boot, I can't see any physical damage on them. The ati pci express card instead boots …

Re: video card for athlon 64 build

I built a similar system, a few days ago. I have the A8N SLI Premium with an Opteron 180 (like a X2 4800+) and i combined it with two 9800GT in SLI. In most cases the CPU is the limiting factor, also with activated AA and AF. The 9800GT (or 8800GT - it is the same!) is very cheap on ebay at moment. …

Re: video card for athlon 64 build

Thank you for the tip, I could get the 950 for less than 60 eur, but if it is really overpowered it's going to be useless... I agree about less heat and power draw, that's why I'm going to pick a card that doesn't require any 6 or 8 pin power connector. Also ATI\amd would be fine as well...

video card for athlon 64 build

I recently got an athlon 64 build. Cpu: Amd 4600+ x2 dual core Mb: Asus A8N32 SLI Ram: 4 Teamgroup 512MB Video Card: Chaintech GeForce 6600 GT Despite having the 6600 gt, I'd like to have a powerful video card, to use it with windows xp and with low power consumption, I don't care about being period …

Re: Sound card for super socket 7 ?

The Dell park number is 5931D You can also search for TB400 and just look at the pictures as the older dell cards had the AU8820 chip (Vortex 1), while the newer ones had the AU8830 (Vortex 2). Thank you for the precious tip. Are those mainly sold in Usa? I tried to find them on ebay without …

Re: Sound card for super socket 7 ?

cyclone3d wrote: Are you looking at am Aureal branded card or one from an OEM build such as a Dell? The Aureal branded Vortex 2 cards generally go for way more than an OEM Vortex 2 card. Hello, are the dell oem cards same as Vortex2? Any tip about where I can find them? Thanks
