These VLB motherboard setups can be very frustrating. The cards don’t alway have a good fit and often the CPU get in the way. Most only support up to a 486-66mhz CPU. And there are allot of onboard components that can fail ( cache, battery, capacitors, bios, etc. ) Lots of settings and Motherboard …

I saw posts at a local computer store ad that “Zalman” is still selling Spiral LED 755 Cooler. I really like these because they are Quality product they where selling for about $30 NEW The Deepcool is fine too.

It all depends on how fast the platter is spinning. I have a 40mb 3200 rpm Conner SCSI drive, and it is pretty silent. See this posts: IBM PS/1 Consultant 1993 with Sound blaster. You need to switch the motherboard jumpers when you add cache. I could not find the document image but it is online somewhere. It might be in the manual too.
